Hateful UN ignores Israeli humanitarian crisis

July 18th, 2006  ·  9 Comments

Displaying a hateful disregard for Israeli life, the United Nations Tuesday completely ignored the mounting humanitarian crisis in northern Israel and instead whined about Lebanese civilians displaced by a war started by their Hizb’allah brethren. Continue reading »

Israel’s window of opportunity is closing

July 16th, 2006  ·  No Comments

UN and EU representatives tasked with bringing an end to the fighting between Israel and Hizb’allah are expected in Jerusalem Sunday, as leaders of the world’s top industrialized nations meet at the G-8 Summit in St. Petersburg with the Middle East at the top of their agenda.

With so much activity in the international community, Israeli officials figure they have about 48-72 hours to inflict as much damage on Hizb’allah as possible before the world steps in and forces an end to the fighting.

The world always does this. Nearly every instance in which Israel was poised to eliminate or seriously set back the Arab threat to its citizens has been hijacked by an internationally-imposed ceasefire.

Apparently beyond the small-minded thinking of these world leaders is the fact such behavior only prolongs the conflict by perpetuating the existence of groups like Hizb’allah.

The Israelis know what is coming, so they need to act fast. Time to take a page from the American playbook and employ the kind of overwhelming force that will ensure a swift victory.

A proportionate response would be stupid

As usual, the international community - minus the United States - is criticizing Israel for not reacting in a “proportionate” manner to Hizb’allah’s aggression against its northern border.

But from a military standpoint, insisting Israel deal with such an attack in a proportionate manner is just stupid. You cannot defeat your enemy if you only respond with the same level of force they used against you. To win, you must be stronger, you must be capable of unleashing MORE force than your enemy.

And then there is the fact that a proportionate response by Israel in this case would consist of indiscriminately firing rockets into Lebanese population centers. Certainly not something the world would countenance.

The only logical conclusion is that the world wants Israel to sit back, let its enemies gain the upper hand and harass the Jewish state into extinction.

Play it both ways, Kofi

Odd, I have never heard Kofi Annan “demand” anything of the Palestinians. You know, like that they stop firing rockets at Israeli towns, blowing themselves up in Israeli cafes, or kidnapping and holding hostage Israeli citizens.

UN Secretary General Kofi Annan has demanded that Israel take urgent action to prevent a humanitarian disaster in the Gaza Strip.

Captain Ed has a fix on the reason for this absurdity: “this is the UN.” An organization that, judging by what it spends the lion’s share of its time on, exists for the sole purpose of harassing the Jewish state. I mean, what has the UN accomplished lately besides condemning and strong-arming Israel into deals detrimental to its survival?

UN hypocrites at it again

United Nations officials in the Gaza Strip are complaining that Arab children living there are wetting their beds due to the tense and frightening situation created by Israel’s current military operations.

As if Israel’s decisions and actions are taken in a vacuum, in the total absence of influence by outside factors. Continue reading »

Nothing doing, Kofi

UN chief Kofi Annan has reportedly admitted being manipulated by the anti-Israel international press regarding the deaths of seven “Palestinians” on a Gaza beach last week, and retracted his skepticism of Israel’s evidence showing IDF munitions were not to blame. Continue reading »

Annan finds Israel’s innocence ’strange’

June 14th, 2006  ·  15 Comments

United Nation’s Secretary General Kofi Annan Wednesday found it “strange” that anything other than Jewish arms could be responsible for the deaths of seven “Palestinian” civilians on a Gaza beach last week.I wonder if Annan also found it strange that the Palestinian Authority refused in every way possible to cooperate with an Israeli probe into the tragic event. Do you want Israel out or not?

May 11th, 2006  ·  26 Comments

The international community’s reaction to Israel’s intention to hand most of Judea and Samaria back to the Arabs without asking anything in return seems to suggest the world doesn’t actually want the “Israeli occupation” to come to an end. Continue reading »
