Want peace? Crush Gaza

November 23rd, 2006  ·  26 Comments

Jerusalem Post columnist Evelyn Gordon has composed an excellent and clear argument why Israel does in fact have a military solution to escalating rocket fire from the Gaza Strip, despite claims to the contrary by Israel’s political leadership.

Letting people die for propaganda

It is a practice most in the West cannot comprehend. That a government would openly take action that causes the death and suffering of is own people is truly vile. But it is also entirely common in the Muslim Middle East, especially when propaganda points are on the table. Continue reading »

How not to offer a ceasefire

July 9th, 2006  ·  1 Comment

Hamas wants Israel to agree to a ceasefire in Gaza, and has threatened to murder more Jews if Jerusalem does not retract its refusal to do so.

Hamas also insists - despite the fact it is the one desperately looking for a truce - that it’s forces are winning the battle in Gaza, and will continue to “humiliate” the Israelis if the IDF is not reined in.

Hmmm, let’s see, 70 dead terrorists (according to IDF estimates) to one dead Israeli soldier. Now who is humiliating whom?

It all seems an odd way to seek a cessation of hostilities. But, that’s the “Palestinians” for you.

Gaza - ‘bottomless pit of violence and chaos’

Remember last year when the “Palestinians,” Israeli leftists and the international community were all aflutter over what the Gaza Strip would become without those terrible Jewish settlers who had caused the barren coastal strip to bloom and provided jobs for perhaps thousands of Arabs?

Things didn’t go according to plan, apparently.

Gaza is a “bottomless pit of violence and chaos,” Israeli Defense Minister Amir Peretz (a poster child for the Israeli Left) told a Friends of the IDF convention in Tel Aviv Sunday.

Few would dispute that claim.

Naturally, Israel, and not the Palestinians’ inability to build a peaceful and prosperous society on their own, is to blame for this mess.
