Jimmy Carter this week continued his rise as the new king of the delusional leftists who insist Israel and the US have no real enemies besides those they themselves provoke to hostile action.
In an address at Emory University, Carter stated adamantly that it was “almost inconceivable” that Iran would actually attack Israel, and insisted that the Islamic Republic does not pose any real threat to either the Jewish state or the US.
Iran is quite distant from Israel.
Uh, ever heard of ballistic missiles?
I think it would be almost inconceivable that Iran would commit suicide by launching one or two missiles of any kind against the nation of Israel.
Ok, so he has heard of ballistic missiles, but apparently missed the memo that Iran has 600 of them pointed at Israel, not just two.
Unbelievably, this is the same Jimmy Carter who was president during the Islamic Revolution and the seizing of the US Embassy in Tehran. And he somehow now finds it impossible to believe that the same kind of Islamic madmen who perpetrated those crimes would ever launch an attack on the Islamic world’s most hated enemy.
This is exactly the kind of delusional wishful thinking that resulted in British-led Western Europe keeping its eyes tightly closed until Hitler’s Germany had actually launched its conquest of the continent.

the comment from the prior idiot is common from people who have no argument so they attack the person. Real impressive.

As a Georgian, I can say that past President James Earl Carter is a shame and disgrace to the State of Georgia. He lives in a fantasy world. It would be wonderful if we could actually live that way, and things would turn out as we imagine.
However, that is not the REAL WORLD! It is most sad that a former President of the United States can live in such a “daze.” One would think that after serving as the leader of the U. S. , that he would be a little “street smart.”
Sadly, there are people who actually believe what Carter says. “If the blind lead the blind, they all fall in the ditch.”

Looks like Jimmy Carter missed the part where Iran has threatened Israel many times. As well as, threatening the US and Israel and a possible attack very soon for attacking Syria’s secret nuclear facility.
Ryan, I would like to hear anything that you have heard about the threats being made lately from Ahmadinejad toward the US and Israel… something about October 12?

we all need to pray for the former president.

From one deranged maniac to another …
viz: Ahmadinejad in response to Carter’s remarks -
” Are you suggesting I am a liar ?!”
Carter is also evidently ignorant of the prophetic scriptures…
Ezekiel 38
” Iwill put hooks in thy jaws and I will bring thee forth
and all thine army -
PERSIA, Ethiopia and Libya with them ” etc

As an American… I am not surprised that Carter believes in what he believes. As one writer already stated, I am ashamed of this man. He lost his mind long ago and now lives in a fantasy world. My gosh, for someone who should know the truth, he is deluded in his thinking and will only see how silly he is in the end.
As for the writer who only had 2 letters to write, it shows how shallow his thinking is and how deluded he is as well.
I am a born again, Fundemental Christian who knows Isreal, no matter what any deluded person says, is the apple of God’s eye. I am certainly one who staunchly supports Isreal and their RIGHT to exist.

Thanks for speaking out about the safety and prosperity of Israel. I agree with your concern and love of God’s people. However, I urge you to do more unbiased research on Carter to understand his message and methods.
Jimmy Carter is a prophet of God and was the most Christ-like President we have ever had. If we had listened to his administration and stuck to his fuel effeciency standards for automobiles we would be weaned off of foreign oil by now and free from war. If we had followed through with his health care policy then every American would have quality accessible health care by now. If we had followed his Christ centered approach to non-violent intelligent negotiations then Israel would have peace and saftey today. If we had followed his call for Christ centered financial self-discipline then we would not be a nation deep in the dept of his republican successors.
Unfortunately we have strayed from the message of Christ which was so wonderfully articulated by President Carter. The result of turning a deaf ear to this prophet has been debt, injustice, death, addiction, gluttony, and war. The message of God’s word is clear and Carter spoke that message into flesh better than any president in our lifetime.
Carter spent more time working for peace and safety for Israel during his presidency than anything else. If he can be faulted for anything, it is that he cared so much for he safety of Israel that he may have neglected to push through his ideas for justice at home. It is a shame that we will never know what may have happened if he had 4 more years to fully implement those policies. Instead almost all of his policies were revoked in the following years and we are still paying the price.

Correction.
“And he somehow now finds it impossible to believe that the same [kind] of Islamic madmen who perpetrated those crimes would ever launch an attack on the Islamic world’s most hated enemy.”
The same madman, not just the same kind of madman.

I heard that israel is now demanding that U.S. aid be in euros, not dollars. Does anyone know if that’s true? How exactly can we find out? Does anyone have web links?

I can understand one writer to have praise for Mr. Carter. But the truth is, is Carter is anti-semite and anti Isreal since his views became known. His so called “Christian” views are slanted against Isreal (and this NOT a Christian view).
Carter has for years been calling on Israel to cede territory to enemies who have said that no matter what Israel does, it wants its total annihilation. He has openly supported Hamas, a known murderous faction that has killed innocent Israeli citizens (and not to mention killing their own people), he has written recently a book that was blatantly anti-Israel that even the Democratic party could not defend, he has been quoted as equating Zionism with racism… I won’t even touch his anti-American stand of how he believes American policies have been anti-Palestinian or how America is bad for the world.
Perhaps the writer should do a thorough, non-biased, research on Carter’s anti-Israel, anti-American views (coddling anti-American tyrants) , quotes and how people in his own party are staying away from this man.
Some people will believe what they want to believe. Carter is NOT the man I want saying ANYTHING thinking he is speaking for the American public. No, sadly, this man has lost his mooring and sides with the enemy. His comments time and again, have made him nothing more than a shill for Israel’s enemies.
This last thinking of Iran as “almost inconceivable” that they will attack Israel is so deluded that he has obviously not been listening to Iran’s President call “total annihilation of Israel” policies. Deluded indeed.
I challenge the writer who praises Carter to re-examine the Carter record in detail, research his ideas, anti-semitic quotes, the books he has written, and an assortment of other writings. Carter has become a national embarrassment and he uses his position to go and “preach” his anti-semitic lies to college students. I, for one, will no longer just sit idly by and watch him tear America and Israel down.
Carter’s policies when he was President sent this country spiraling out of control into a DEEP, DEEP recession which took another President to undo! He got Israel to give in to Arab demands… oh… I could go on.

After reading Mike L.’s post I think I know what being on a psychedelic trip must feel like. Thank you, Ben, for bringing us back to reality. Have you all seen Carter’s interview on Aljazeera?
What a “great” guy.
14 Ben // Sep 24, 2007 at 8:10 am
Victor, thank you for bringing up exactly what I had been saying in these posts… Carter is not what he is supposing to be. His interview with Al Jazeera is shameless and a embarrassment.
Carter is pro-Arab, and anti-Israel. Plain and simple. If he were REALLY Christian as he claims (and how Mike so plainly expressed), he would KNOW the truth about Israel and her enemies. But then again, if you don’t believe the truth in the Bible, you will have a tendency to believe whatever vain thing comes along in your life and become deceived and deluded in your views.
For the record, Carter can say whatever he wants to say, but Israel is the apple of God’s eye and will protect and defend her. The Arab world can say whatever they want to say as well and it will, for all intents and purposes, not matter.
For this reason, we must defend Israel in all areas. Israel is surrounded by enemies bent on her destruction, no matter what the Israelis do in appeasing them (and let’s face it, appeasement is perceived as weakness in Arabs’ eyes and so will not work). Land for Peace is such a farce. Carter’s strategy is to weaken Israel and pressure the US into backing off of Israel politically.
Dauda stated we should pray for him and hopefully Carter will simply go away and do something else besides raise his anti-semitic rhetoric abroad and inflame an already murderous enemy, both to Israel and America. We should pray for Carter.
The world at large is becoming more and more anti-Israel. Even in the US, we are seeing an increase in anti-semiticism and calls for reducing aid. But I say, as Christians, stand firm for Israel, fight back those who want to tear Israel down with their words, such as Mr. Carter. We are going to be either on God’s side or we’re not. Choice is yours. I want to be on side that God is on… it is a win situation for me.

As a past resident and lover of the state of Georgia most of the folks down south who are familiar with Jimmies state of mental awareness realize that he and Billy were braindamaged at birth. It was common knowledge that Jimmie was a crook since way before he became governor of the state. He took kickbacks and had under the table business with the southern mafia. But when he became the president it was suddenly “Why Jimmie’s our boy from Plains, of course we jes luv him. Jimmie Carter is a scumbag on the close order of Bill Clinton.
I apologize for his behavior.
16 Marsha Carol Watson // Sep 25, 2007 at 7:34 am
Thank you, Ben. You have spoken the truth! I have lived in South Georgia most of my growing up years….I am now 62 years old. I have been here a long while…I live some 75 or 80 miles from Plains, GA, so I see the BIG picture also.
But—Sadest of all, Jimmy Carter is an old man. A true Christian would ALWAYS Stand with Israel…..I am not being unkind…I am simply stating truth. No one can ever doubt that Jimmy Carter has “some kind of bone to pick” with the Jewish People, and so the Nation of Israel He tries to hurt.
People who live double lives Always get caught up with….Sometimes it takes awhile, but God always brings the truth to Light…God will expose Jimmy Carter at some time in such a way that the entire world will no longer be “fooled” by his countenance.
We may be great actors and actresses to the world, but our false performances cannot and will not fool the Most High God. If Jimmy Carter does not love the Jewish People—–how can he reverence and respect a Jewish Rabbi, Jesus Christ, who Carter professes to be his Saviour and Lord?

Jimmy Carter must think that Iran has no ties to Russia . Any incident with Israel that goes nuclear will inevitably involve the Nuclear Super Powers . It would not matter if Syria , Iran or Israel used nukes first, the outcome would be the same . Those irrational idiots believe that they can use an EMP pulse weapon on us and we would be whipped . We would be taken back to the late 1800’s by such a weapon and millions would die from lack of food , water and medical being non-existent . But our subs could respond with a terrible resolve. But again the Arab monsters are irrational

Jimmy Carter, “BOY!”, An IDIOT by any other name is still an IDIOT.
Jimmy Carters rantings are the rantings of a LUNATIC and should be taken as such.
He teaches a Bible Study class according to the Baptist church he attends. I’ve even wrote him a letter bringing to his attention to The Abrahamic Covenant and that I read the same scriptures as he reads and that my Bible doesn’t say what his says. My Bible says LOVE not HATE, LIFE not DEATH.
No matter what Jimmy Carter says or does, in the end, he will be held accountable just as you and I will be.

I am sure the guy on whos watch these Iranian creeps declared war on us and he sent in a failed half ass mission to resuce Americans only resulting in us becoming the donkey of the middle east. Jimmy Carter is a mindless bastard that I truly believe is crazy on some level. He didn’t declare war on Iran and take them out like he should have then, you Jimmy Carter are to blame for 2/3 of the problems we face today, and Clinton’s worthless ass is responsible for the other 1/3. Peace.

In the end, let’s pray for Jimmy and his family that not only he repent of his sins (as we all do as well), that he sees the error of his ways and get back on track where he needs to be.
Samuel was right… he will be held accountable. So, pray for Carter and pray that our Lord and Savior, Jesus, deal directly with the Iranian president and his cohorts.

perhaps this is what you are referring to?:
http://www2.irna.ir/en/news/view/menu-236/0709199796134418.htm
apparently some iranian spokeman has said that “supporters of the zionist regime will receive their final answer on this day (oct. 12)”.
found this info. by doing a little googling.
it’s also noteworthy that 10/12 was the date of both the bali bombings AND the U.S.S. cole attack.
i, for one, am keeping my eyes open.

By the way, did anything happen this Oct 12?
I don’t remember hearing about any terrorist attack or event.
