The Palestinians don’t want compromise

July 25th, 2007  ·  14 Comments

Israeli prime ministers are able to increase their public backing by concluding even minor compromise agreements with the Arabs, but the mainstream media and world leaders are 100% mistaken in asserting that such deals provide long-term political traction for Palestinian leaders.

This misguided line of thinking featured once again in a Ha’aretz story published on Wednesday regarding Prime Minister Ehud Olmert’s offer to negotiate an “Agreement of Principles” toward the establishment of a Palestinian state with PLO leader Mahmoud Abbas.

The leftist newspaper maintained that such an agreement, which Israel hopes and assumes would be based on mutual compromise, would “offer both Abbas and Olmert domestic political gains, and the Palestinian leader will be able to use it as part of his reelection campaign.”

It is hard to understand why after more than a decade of the “peace” process these guys still don’t get it.

Abbas cannot go back to the Palestinian public without 100% of their demands being met. It is what he has been promising them for years, and it is what the Palestinian education system is teaching Palestinian children must be extracted from the “criminal and blood-thirsty Jews” one way or another.

The Palestinians have been conditioned by their leadership to accept no compromise, so you can be sure that same leadership will never conclude the peace process without having all of its demands met in full.

That is precisely the reason Yasser Arafat turned down Ehud Barak’s final status deal at Camp David in 2000. Arafat knew that the little bit of compromise Barak was asking him to make would ultimately be unacceptable to the Palestinians, and definitely would not help him in retaining his dictatorial powers.

Going down this path of folly, it seems the best Israel can hope for is a bilateral agreement that does include some degree of Palestinian compromise over the land, but which will without doubt justify in the minds of the Palestinians a continuation of the “resistance.”

Israel will get its piece of paper, and the Palestinians will get most of “their” land, but the attacks will continue. Abbas will claim he is at peace with Israel, but that he simply cannot control or contain the Hamas rogue in his midst. Arafat permitted the establishment of Hamas for just such a purpose - so that he could pretend to be engaged in meaningful peace talks with Israel, while anti-Jewish Palestinian terrorism continued unabated.

This is what Israel’s current leadership and the international forces influencing it are offering Israelis.

Good article and assessment on the “Palestinian” position.

Two passages in the Bible glare like a neon sin on a cloud covered night as an ominous sign for these leaders.

    Ezekiel 13:16;

To wit, the prophets of Israel which prophesy concerning Jerusalem, and which see visions of peace for her, and there is no peace, saith the Lord GOD.

    Romans 11:25;

For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.

Israel’s “prophets of peace” deceiver the people into believing peace can be obtained with the seed of Ishmael by Hagar through Esau. They will settle for nothing less than posession of all they falsely claim Abram gave to them.

The land given Abraham, the land of Canaan (Gen. 17:8) extends from the Nile (great river in Egypt) to the Euphrates. (Gen. 15:8).

So these people who claim to be whom they are not and have no rights to anything, will settle for nothing but the complete and utter destruction of Israel and the house of Judah. PERIOD!

Their is only one solution to this problem. Total Victory .

Israel is not willing to destroy the Palis so Israel will have to make peace someday. This debate is getting old. If Israel won’t destroy them and move on, then the Palis are going to be around forever, and if that is the case you must make peace with these ass clowns, or be prepared to fight until the end of time. Total victory is the destruction of the Palis, and don’t count on God for that, only Israels military can make that happen.

Somehow, someway Israel has got to oust Ehud Olmert. He has got to go NOW. Unless B. Netanyahu becomes Prime Minister REAL SOON the people of Israel will have no one in authority that is strong enough and wise enough to balance the playing field.

I don’t know how it can be done….but it must be done now.

Right on, Marsha! Is there no on etop replace the generation of Israel’s founding fathers? Total victory is indeed the only way to end this morass. It will br bloody, and it will be costly, and G_d has always seen to it that Israel survives. Jews will see that Israel thrives.

I just keep asking myself over and over how a man like Ehud Olmert could have ever gotten elected as Prime Minister of Israel in the first place! The Jewish people are the most brilliant, gifted people in the entire world.

I consider them to be in every area “head and shoulders” above the rest of us. That is not a put down for we gentiles, but they just are and always have been….it is God’s favor on them.

And yet, Olmert just keeps lasting and lasting as Prime Minister. I just do not understand this.

We have some leaders in America who slipped in “under the radar” also….and they surely do need to be displaced from their “Ivory Towers” of power and influence.

One of America’s most Beloved Presidents: Ronald Wilson Reagan said: “The mark of a man is one who learns from his mistakes.”

What a profound statement and how true it is! As long as we continue to bury our heads in the sand and are afraid to “Peep” out and see how things really are—-we are doomed to fail….

Pastor John Hagee does a marvelous teaching on PROMISE, PROBLEM, PROVISION. It is one of the best I have ever heard and is filled with life lessons that are required to survive.

As Pastor Hagee notes in this teaching: “When we don’t learn from our mistakes, God tells us to TAKE ANOTHER LAP AROUND THE WILDERNESS!”

Personally, I have not always learned from my mistakes on the first go round….and I can tell you those additional trips around the wilderness have been awful!

I agree Marsha, the Jewish people are very brilliant and gifted. But it sure is good, they don’t have to use Olmert as an example of that, because he is definitely lacking in that area. And I think most of us have probably taken several laps around the wilderness, before we have learned from our mistakes. But, when you’re a leader of a country, such as Bush and Olmert are, and you have to take those additional laps around the wilderness, it not only affects you, but it also affects the country you are leading. And if Bush continues pressuring Olmert into giving up more of their land, then Bush is going to be making those extra laps, and America is going suffer for his mistakes.

    Nathan,

While I would LOVE to see the IDF totally ANNIHILATE the Arab enemy known as the ‘Palis’, Israel will probably NEVER get the resolve to destroy this implacable enemy, as she should. So it is exactly on God whom you can count on to get the job done. Examples of this are replete in Israel’s history. Of course, I believe Israel still has to make the move, others will try to stop her (the International community) by all means, and then guess Who will finally intervene?

    Can you say Armaggedon?

  • 10 Nathan // Jul 28, 2007 at 4:09 am

I don’t believe in biblical intervention, but WW3 will be a big one.

I am so sick of hearing about Lindsey Hohan I want to shoot myself.

  • 11 Marsha Carol Watson // Jul 29, 2007 at 5:29 am

Nathan, don’t get drawn into the News Channels seduction. Lindsey Lohan and others are just traps to keep your mind off of important things you need to be thinking on. Time is short—-the world is in a nose dive toward destroying itself. It is up to you and me, along with lots of others to stay focused on the things of God. Our strength and our peace come from Him. “He will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed upon thee.”

Nathan, God is our source. Israel in the natural cannot achieve Victory against their enemies, unless they have the blessings of God in their battles. Don’t get discouraged, even though it is so easy to do. Put your Faith to work for you. Faith can move mountains. We are going to see the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob manifest His power very soon. Keep watching, keep praying, and wait on the Lord. You will be strengthened by what you are going to see Him do on behalf of His Beloved Israel.

All you crazy people need to get a life!! your country is illegal your Tora is a fable and your religion along with all the others is fake! Your IDF spreads as much terror as Alqaida and your orthodox jews are as extreme in their religious views as Osama. The muslims bombed a building you guys bombed a US naval vessel ( USS LIBERTY) so relax, shave your sideburns, quit playing the victim, and try to find a way to live in peace with the people you have been terrorizing and opressing for 60 years.

  • 13 Charles // Jul 31, 2007 at 4:37 am

    Jacob
You have a rude awakening coming . There is time to repent and know Jesus , but time is wasting .

  • 14 Etzyon // Jul 31, 2007 at 4:35 pm

    Jacob,

Do you ignore the laws of right and wrong. From what you have posted you see no difference between the Muslims bombing buildings and blowing up children in aggression, hate and anger to Israel accidently attacking the USS Liberty and defending its country from terrorist. You are obviously blind.

If someone comes into your house to attack you, and you end up attacking them… are you not just defending yourself or are you described in your post above as also being wrong for attacking them.

I recommend using your brain more often, it was given to you for that reason.
