Yesterday I wrote on Prime Minister Olmert’s foolish and naive decision to offer amnesty to the worst Fatah terrorists in a ridiculous attempt to “bolster” the group’s leader, Mahmoud Abbas.
Rather than foolish and naive, however, I think this decision can be better described as short-sighted and self-serving.
It simply cannot be that Olmert and the rest of the Israeli and American leaderships are not aware that the terrorists who laid down their arms as part of the amnesty deal will pick them right back up when it serves their interests to do so.
They must know that the terrorists were more enticed by the $15,000 Abbas offered for every M-16 assault rifle than by the prospect of peace and reconciliation with the Jewish state. Did it somehow escape Olmert that these killers may have laid down one gun, but in doing so received enough cash to purchase a small arsenal of weapons?
The real reason for these ludicrous decisions, as I see it, is that in Israel, like in America, the leadership is most concerned about political approval, about securing a positive “legacy.”
A momentary pat on the back, a “thumbs up” from the White House seems to be more important to Olmert than ensuring the future security of his people. How else can one explain these moves by the Israeli government?

You are so right!! I am praying a lot for Israel that G_od will take Olmert down!
He is a whimp and has no backbone and is one of the worst, leaders Israel has ever had.
I pray that “Bibi” will become the prime minister soon and straighten that mess out.
Land for peace is a joke! Israel’s enemies want all the Jews driven into the Great Sea and put an end to the Jewish nation. You cannot negotiate with Jew haters and killers, and they will not rest until Israel is “wiped off the map” as that Iranian Jewhater Achmadinejad puts it! pray for the peace of Jerusalem!
Shalom!

Nerah, President Bush has just said today that America is “giving” between One Hundred and Two Hundred Million Dollars to the Palestinians to further the “cause” for peace in the middle east!
This has got to be a terrible nightmare!!! When I saw the news conference on TV today…..I could not believe it!!!!
How much farther will The Most High God let America go before he drops the “big wrecking ball” from Heaven on us to shake us and wake us up!!! We just seem to keep “digging the hole” deeper and deeper….UNBELIEVABLE—BUT TRUE!!!
We can’t become so overcome that we quit praying….Fasting with prayer for all who can is Necessary right now….God helps us all……
Ryan, thanks for giving us the true picture……We need you….

Judas couldn’t have competed with this one . But you must know that if you believe the Bible is the Living Word of God that God is overseeing Bumbling Bush’s every move . I believe that he will be the most hated president in American history and possibly the last . We may never see another election , see American Concentration Camps .

It seems like we’re in an era which keeps whetting evil’s appetite. There just isn’t enough blood to shed. This will lead up to you know what, when His cup runneth over… (but not the “good” cup).
