Is Prime Minister Ehud Olmert trying to prepare Israelis for the surrender of the Golan Heights to Syria?
On Monday, Olmert explained in detail to the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee that the only thing that would buy Israel peace with Syria would be ceding the entire Golan. He expounded on the issue despite stating that he remains opposed to negotiations with Damascus at this time.
Olmert is trying to get Israelis used to the notion that one day they will have to give up the strategic northern plateau that has kept them safe from Syrian aggression for so many decade. Imagine what would have happened in the 1973 Yom Kippur War if the Syrian Army hadn’t needed to cross an Israeli-controlled Golan to reach the rest of the country?
What’s worse, Olmert is giving Damascus the green light to make Israel’s full and complete surrender of the Golan a non-negotiable demand. When in the future Damascus refuses to compromise on the issue, they can point to Olmert’s position as justification for their own.
The Israelis have got to get this guy out of office before he causes further damage to Israel’s security and opens the door for the slaughter of many more of his countrymen.

How can anybody make so many mistakes. Giving the Golan away would be Olmert’s crowning mistake. The only thing that keeps Syria in place is the Golan. Hey if we could trust them I would say go for it give it away. But Syria and Iran…who can trust or believe anything they say? They will say anything you want them to say just to get what they want. Then after they get it they would renig and once again try to destroy Israel. I say “NO! Don’t remove our geographical barrier.” Think about all the lives that were lost in the obtaining of the Golan. To give it away would be a slap in the face of all who gave up their lives to obtain it.

I just don’t understand what Olmert is thinking. How can he trust Syria? They have made it very clear that their objective is to annihilate Israel not to make peace with them. Doesn’t Olmert know that Syria would say anything to obtain the Golan Heights, and that they cannot be trusted. Also he needs to get the courage to tell America, or anyone else, that is pressuring him to do such an idiotic thing to back off, and mind their own business. I pray that he doesn’t make this disastrous mistake. Olmert needs to realize that he, or no one else, has the right to give it away land that God has given to Israel.

Oust Olmert! He is destroying what G-d wanted for Israel. Get him out before he takes Israel too far in giving up their heritage—what God gave Abraham. Elect someone who will fight FOR ISRAEL not against her. Appeasement doesn’t work. It only makes the aggressor demanding more appeasement for their demands. The only way to get rid of a bully (that is what the Syrians, etc., are—Bullies) is to fight the bully. Israel, stand up and fight for El Shaddai—instead of rolling over and giving up. Be a David, when he stood for God against Goliath, when everyone else was afraid.

I’m afraid it is going to take something pretty serious to bring about the downfall of this government.
The public is definitely unhappy with the Olmert administration, but sadly there are a LOT of corrupt folks in the Knesset who are more interested in keeping their seats than representing the will of the people.

I PRAY THAT TODAY THAT PM OLMERT WILL BE PUT OUT OF OFFICE BY THE END OF THIS WEEK. THIS MAN IS NOT A FRIEND OF ISRAEL, SO WHY SHOULD THE PEOPLE LET HIM STAY IN OFFICE. GET HIM OUT PUT SOMEONE THAT KNOWS HOW TO DIRECT A COUNTRY, TO PROTECT IT’S PEOPLE, AND TO KEEP ALL THE LAND GOD GAVE THEM FOR AN ETERNITY.

I can only think of the scripture concerning Damascus Syria. I think it said Damascus will be in utter ruin . As far as I know that has not happened to this point in history . Israel could easily do such a thing with their arsenal.

even with trust God’s land, any of Israel’s land can not be given away! Of course you are all right, there is no trust, no peace! Muslim’s lie! It is proven, These people, all of these middle-east countries are enemies of Israel, Israel can Trust God and has to be very careful about trusting even the U.S. , but we are still thier closest friend as far as the world goes. I mean government not individuals.

They seem to be having some problems! What about that!? Also yes holocaust in America can very well happen, I don’t think 9-11 was about just the Jewish people, or attacks on or in the US are just about the Jewish people, remember, the muslim religion, hates infidels..ie. Mini Assad will not do anything to risk his kingdom. Syria has lost every conflict they had with Israel and I doubt the next one will be different. Moshe Dayan was asked once how Israel could defeat the Arabs time and time again and he replied by saying you come and fight the Arabs, you’ll understand. Arabs suck at fighting wars so good luck Syria you’ll need it.

I cannot believe that anyone in Israel’s leadership would even think this.Olmert’s policies,to me anyway,point in the direction of a high position promise in the New World Order or something similiar.Why would a person surrender his own people’s key defensive position,without which it cannot survive?Is he that dense,or is he part of a cabal bent on the destruction of Israel,or such a depraved,self serving demonic inspired traitor that he sells out his Jewish people with sadistic glee. I’m not that familiar with your constitution to know how to remove him,but if this beautiful Nation and people are to survive,he has to be removed with all possiible speed!

Sam, without a doubt there is a demonic influence behind Olmert’s policies. As you said, no leader in their right mind would utter such words of defeat and surrender when when the enemy remains poised to strike.
It is actually far easier to remove an Israeli prime minister than it is a US president. That is why Israel has had six prime miniters in the past 12 years.
Unfortunately, most members of the Knesset today know that if elections were held tomorrow, they would be in grave danger of losing their seats to Netanyahu’s Likud and other right-wing parties. As such, few are willing to bring down the government in a vote of no-confidence. Something is going to have to happen to jolt them into this kind of action.

So glad i found this website…so many fruitful thinkers! I’m learning so much!
Everyday still,
we can be thankful for all trials,
knowing it is through these times we are evermore feverent in our prayers for the salvation of our jewish and gentile brothers and sisters.
The first basic principle of faith in our Father-
to be thankful in all situations, knowing that all work together for the good.
I love that we will never know it all… that we will always need each other…that God ensures , though we seek to understand the times we live in, he keeps just enough knowledge to keep us searching and praying for our loved ones. Knowing the time is clearly at hand. Salvation is always the main point. Everyday now, more than ever, my prayers are urgent for those without salvation. The knowledge we glean from one another helps us not to know all the answers.. but to equip us to go out into our back yard, our neighbourhood our street and warn others, the time is near. I pray for us all that we never forget that Gods blessing of knowledge and wisdom is to serve our brothers and sisters who cannot see.
These are precious moments…the final days when God waits..not willing that any should perish.
God hear our prayers-that the events unfolding will turn our Jewish brothers and sisters to Jesus Christ.

Just an observation, but maybe Olmert is of the same mind as the Prez of Iran. The “Let’s end the waiting and get the ball rolling.” thinking. I’m eagerly awaiting Jesus’ return. It’s about time things came to an end if you keep up with Biblical prophecy. Just a thought.

This ill-fated move along with all of the other looming failures of policies with respect to land for peace blunders , could signal the return of Christ to bail out Israel . I feel that ,only in desperation will Israel truly turn to the Lord . Life is too good right now to call out the Big Gun, but when the issue seem
lost they will then have to get down on their knees and petition the only One that can save them . This will happen and could be caused by these circumstances . To unbelievers this is foolishness . But to believers this is prophesy being fulfilled .

“life is too good right now to call out the big gun” No offense, but it isn’t too pretty out there, we don’t see reality. I am beggining to see alot more of the truth because I am searching it out. But it seems people are blind(not saying you are). Soon I think it will be obvious to all we won’t be able to miss it. I feel Yeshua is weeping for all the atrocities that are going on and soon His wrath will get stronger and stronger, things are happening, people are being punished it seems, for the blatant disregard for life, and treatment of others like meat and God like He doesn’t matter. I believe the world is being set up for the Gog-Magog battle prophesied in Ezekiel 38 and 39, which paints an alliance of Russia, Iran (Persia) and other Muslim countries, attacking Israel. God steps in and destroys the army, leaving but the sixth part of it. And as the Scripture says,

No matter how bad it is now with a few missiles landing in Israel , things are going to get a lot worse . When God brought the armies of Nebuchadnezzar against the land of Israel , He purged the wicked and rebellious from Israel . The scriptures elude to a large scale invasion that will be overwhelming and very bloody where Israel will be trodden down . When Israel is about to be done away with as in Roman times , God will hear their cries and Christ will return this time as the Messiah they were looking for the first time . Has land for peace ever worked before? What would Israel get for giving up the Golan, West Bank and East Jerusalem? There were not rounds of applause and thank yous from the Palestianians for getting the Gaza Strip from Israel. It is time for Israel to trust the promises of God; not the lies of man.

Yes I agree it is only going to get worse. My point was and is that people are blind to how bad the situation is currently+ the potential or shall I say inevitable fact that it is going to get worse! it is frustrating that people can’t open thier eyes or stand for the truth!!! Even most of American government(and people) do not care about winning this war. And only want to blame Israel! Giving over the Golan, good idea becuase Syria is/has been so friendly to Israel! NOT!!!
