How will Israel handle the new Palestinian uprising?

February 12th, 2007  ·  6 Comments

I don’t want to get too far ahead of myself, but I would not be at all surprised if Israel’s current renovations outside Jerusalem’s Temple Mount spark a new “Palestinian” terror war.

Remember, the previous “intifada” - dubbed the “Oslo War” by Israelis and the “Al Aqsa Intifada” by the Arabs - was, according to the Arabs, a justified and legitimate response to Ariel Sharon’s 2000 Rosh Hashanah visit to the Temple Mount.

If you listen to local and regional Muslim leaders, they are issuing very similar calls to those heard in 2000 inciting the Palestinian Arabs to “defend” the Al Aqsa Mosque that, along with the Dome of the Rock, occupies the Temple Mount.

Those calls are being answered - perhaps slowly, but in an escalating manner. So far, the IDF has registered nearly 100 rock and firebomb attacks on Jews in Judea and Samaria since last Thursday. And Hamas officials are calling for official Palestinian Authority armed violence against Israel.

The renovations at the Temple Mount are slated to last a full year. Believe me, it won’t take that long until this powder keg explodes.

The question is how will Israel deal with the war forced upon it this time.

Will the totally inept Olmert government fight back with token military strikes while continuing the ludicrous effort of trying to negotiate with the Mahmoud Abbas-controlled half of the PA? (Very similar to how Olmert is handling the ongoing rocket attacks from Gaza.)

Or will we see, as happened in 2000, the leftist government crumble amid renewed “Palestinian” terrorism, and the election of a strong right-wing government willing to take the fight to the enemy (at least initially)?

You can be sure one of the two is going to happen sooner rather than later. My vote is with option #2, judging by the fact that Olmert is already hugely unpopular in Israel because of his failure to lead the nation to victory in Lebanon.

One last note:

Isn’t it sad how willing the Arabs are to fight for control of the Temple Mount, even to the extent of making up lies, while the Israelis in general are so apathetic regarding Judaism’s and the Bible’s holiest site?

A major prayer point, if you ask me.

Faithless Israel has dealt with the moslem uprising as it always deals with threats and violence.
    retreat and surrender.
Why even today faithless Idol worshiper and stooge of Mr. Road Map ,puppet minister Olmert is sending out feelers for surrendering Ha Golan to Syria for peace.
Israel has rejected Torah and embrace the covenant with death Road Map.
When such evil leaders rule over Israel it’s no wonder the dark storm clouds are brewing and about to unleash great wrath and judgment .
    Come My people ,enter into your rooms,and close the door behind you;
Hide for a little while,Until indignation runs it’s course.
For behold, the Lord is about to come out from His place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity; And the earth will reveal her bloodshed, and will no longer cover her slain Isaiah26

I’m afraid so far Israel’s reaction to the violence is to retreat. I heard on the news that Israel is stopping the renovations for awhile to review the situation, in the hope that it will quell the violence. That makes no sense to me,since the violence will resume when Israel resumes the renovations. Israel just needs to take control of the situation, and do whatever it takes to stop the violence, and to continue on with the renovations as planned. And they shouldn’t worry about what America, or anyone else thinks about it.

Israel is going to have to instill fear in the hearts of Arabs . Israel will have to be heavy handed with the Arabs and have no mercy on them . You can’t tell which one is the bad actor so don’t try to be that cautious . They all hate the Jews . After all they aren’t discriminant to kill only Jews . They have instilled fear in many Israeli’s with great pleasure .
Roll up your sleeves and get dirty. To heck with the Road map to destruction .

Yes, Israel has stood in the corner and closed its eyes for too long…There must come a reckoning. The world stands by and criticizes Israel, when the world doesn’t even have a clue to what is really happening.

It does not matter what the world thinks anyway. Israel cannot count on anyone or any country….only on Almighty God. He has never left them….and He will never leave them…..My family and I contrinue to pray and believe that Israel’s current leadership will change soon, and we will see the enemies of Israel stand down! With the right leadership, Israel’s enemies will be afraid to push the Nation as it has done with the weak Olmert leadership.

The God of Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps!

If the Pals cross the line and start trouble then shoot em. Its not hard tell the Hamas flunkies in Damascus to order their guys to stay home, then you have no trouble. So end your script Pals I hate listening to your complaining!

Nathan , I don’t know about the Arab citizens of Israel but all Arabs should be banned from Israel from outside of the borders .
