Prime Minister Ehud Olmert has given his “word of honor” to release hundreds, perhaps thousands of “Palestinian” security prisoners as a goodwill gestures he hopes will move the two sides closer to peace.
Why is this a bad idea? Two reasons.
First, and most obvious, is that doing so will encourage terrorists to carry out more of the kinds of acts of terror they believe forced Israel to implement the release. Last summer’s abductions of three IDF soldiers by Hamas and Hizb’allah will be held up as what forced Israel to free the jailed “Palestinians,” and a wave of kidnapping will ensue.
The second, and more dangerous reason why releasing “Palestinian” terrorists is an act of lunacy has to do with legitimizing the “Palestinian cause” and its violent methods.
On the international stage, the “Palestinians” argue that every peace process in modern history has been accompanied by the release of imprisoned enemy combatants.
For Israel to free jailed “Palestinian” terrorists would suggest - to the world, but more importantly to the Arabs - that these killers are in fact legitimate combatants and that their actions were legitimate acts of war.
Either these people are cold-blooded terrorist killers whose crimes go far beyond legitimate resistance, or they are freedom fighters. Israel cannot have it both ways. Even if Israel made peace with the Arabs based on the creation of a Palestinian Arab state, the terrorist prisoners should never be released because of the things they have done - that is how criminal justice works.
If Israel frees these murderers, it will be effectively saying they are not criminals or murderers, but rather legitimate freedom fighters whose actions are excusable in the framework of national resistance. It will be spitting on the blood of its dead, and digging the graves of the next Jewish victims.

In a sane world we wouldn’t be asking ourselves why criminals should not be released. Rather, we would be asking ourselves:
Why are terrorists and murderers still living off taxpayer dollars?
Why haven’t these people received the death penalty yet?
What kind of measures should we implement to seriously discourage these criminals from terrorizing our populace?
Likewise, if Israel were a self-respecting people, government officials would tremble upon thinking of the repercussions that would certainly ensue against their own persons were they to do something so insane as to release these maniacal criminals against the wishes of the public at large.

I am past feeling sorry for him….He has now become a terrible liability to the Nation on Israel as long as he holds the position of Prime Minister. All reasoning power has left him…..He has proven that he does not have what it takes to be the leader of the only nation in the world that was created by a Soverign Act of Almighty God. He must step down now, or the people MUST act…..

Offhand I would say that the young Muslims feel hopeless and have no way out. But then I guess that the Mexicans are much smarter . They leave oppression to find a new life where the can labor to help their family back home to live a more prosperous life . There is always an alternative for a young person to change their life . The Muslim religion has been a violent religion proven by history. Radical leaders teach kids to become martyrs and give money to the families of martyrs. Why don’t the leaders of those radicals become martyrs ? They promote martyrdom whether it be in the case of Beirut and the children’s nurseries or a teenager .

From what I can’t see, Palestinians in Israel and Palestine don’t have much opportunities.
To say Islam is a violent religion is false. It is believers in Islam who may become violent. I could say Judaism and Christianity are violent religions, citing the Crusades and, if Israel is thought of as a representative of Judaism, Israeli crimes. Of course, it is not the religions themselves, but the followers who are violent. Then again, there are some rather violent verses in the Bible, and probably the Torah. From what I’ve read of the Qur’an, violent verses tend to be taken out of context.

Dudes… look this is the war and i know that it is started but this is long war not for some years. Look u have to save your lives coz you got ur self between the midle east. Why are you so defensive with Charles’ comment about the koran? I thought you were supposed to be a Christian, not a Muslim. Because if you are a Christian, the koran should not be of any importance to your faith, and you should not be defending anything that is in it. How can you call yourself a Christian and do that? Capital punishnent and war is and has been permitted, even commanded, although of course peace is always preferred,G-d is a G-d of love but also a righteous G-d and therefore must remove evil, but then our tiny minds cannnot even begin to understand His infinite Wisdom. people who say that they believe in Christ as the chosen one must also accept the fact that Israel is God’s chosen land and we must all lift our hearts and voices up to God to bring deliverance to His land and His chosen people.
