You sleep with missiles, you wake up dead

August 17th, 2006  ·  4 Comments

There is a lot of whining going on about those poor Lebanese civilians whose lives Israel shattered for no apparent reason (if the mainstream media is to be believed). This excellent editorial helps to put the whole situation in perspective.

I want to just post a few of the points here, though you really should read the whole thing.

The author makes the point most of the media is ignoring as it shows the scenes of “wanton Israeli destruction” - that is if the Lebanese, or any nation for that matter, allow a major terrorist organization to set itself up as a virtual army and then attack a neighboring state, there can be no claims of ignorance, surprise or innocense when the aggrieved come roaring back with their own military response.

But, he goes on, the media is purposely ignoring this aspect of the conflict, purposely ignoring the cause and only looking at the effect, knowing full well that scenes of pitiful Lebanese families will cause most to forget about everything but the Israeli bombs that created this situation. He uses this analogy to illustrate:

Seeing television snippets of wounded or dead Lebanese with people sitting on the ground crying and calling them all “innocent civilians” is the same as looking at a photograph of the armpit of Christie Brinkley and saying, “Here is the photo of a supermodel. Isn’t she beautiful?”

The armpit picture is only a part of the story. When human beings see babies or mothers hurting, no matter what, we feel the pain. If we saw baby pictures of Charles Manson, we would want to cuddle him.

The bottom line for the Lebanese:

You sleep with dogs, you wake up with fleas. You sleep with missiles, you wake up dead.

Cause and effect make an interesting study. There are many causes and many effects. But the world, being unaware of the ultimate Cause and the ultimate Effect, is presently being given the experience of many subservient causes and effects. And for the most part, it ain’t much fun.

But I do believe it will all be worth the trouble when the ultimate Effect is realized by all.

Hey Ryan! You weren’t kidding when you said Mr. Graulich’s editorial helps put things into perspective. What an excellent editorial. Thanks so much for directing us to it.

You know, the more I think about it, God needs our help to fulfill His promises to Israel even less than He needed Abraham’s help to produce Isaac.

In Christ, circumcision of the flesh means nothing. In Christ there is no more Jew or goyim (or whatever they call us), but a new creation. Our celestial blessings in Christ in this administration of transcendant grace, outshine Israel’s earthly promises and blessings by a long way, about as far as the distant galaxies are above the earth. Thus, we are to be disposed to the celestial, not to the terrestrial, our realm being inherent in the heavens, not the earth.

After Paul obtained some knowledge of Christ, he began to consider his Jewish heritage as refuse. Present day belilevers in Christ will be long gone before God fulfills His promises to Israel. Mr. Graulich’s article had some very good and illuminating points about the subject at hand, but the spirit I perceived in him, and the circumcised banana at the top of the website reminded me of something Paul said: “Beware of the maimcision.”

Israel, America, China, Russia, and some others are sleeping with nuclear warheads in their backyards. What do you think the effect of that will be? Will we all wake up dead? I don’t think so. When the dead wake up, they are no longer dead.

Some will wake up to life, others to judgement and a second death. Is that their end? No. Death and the lake of fire remain for the eons of the eons, not forever and ever. In Christ, all will be given life and immortality when sin is put away and death is discarded at the conclusion of the eons. Talk about cause and effect; that life they receive will be solely the result of Christ’s obedience to the death of the cross, not because of anything they did, just like us who now find ourselves believers in Him; not because we chose Him, but because He chose us.

Lots of us like to think we are the cause and effect of our destiny. God has something quite a bit better in mind.

So what happens to all the dogs and the fleas? I’m not sure, but I know the lions will eat hay, and the children will play with snakes, and all the trees will clap their hands . . . while we are governing the galaxies, and Israel is governing earth. But that job will end when The Son delivers up the kingdom to the Father, that God may be All in all. And of His kingdom there will be no end. Now What do you suppose will cause all that?

Out of Him as the Source, through Him as the Agent; and for, and moving into Him as the Objective . . . is every existence and occurence. We live, move, and are in Him, and He is over all, through all, and in all. All is and are out of Him.

Dear universe, bear with the discipline. Your Creator has good things planned for you.

The content is quite revealing and educating.,if only those concrened(U.N,Isreal leadership, western or european union leaders etc)could read and understand this palpble danger staring not only the Isreal nation alone, but the entire human race; and take premtive action on time to avert it before it spines out of control.
What is written here is just apt summation of my view on world events as it regards Isreal, its relationship with its Arab violent neighboursand the rest of the world. How i wish a copy of this is made availble to U.Nsecurity council: and another presented to the current U.N members in sesion, and finally to world heads of state tosee and delibrate on,this way they may help at least save us this urgly situation.
I must not fail to commend whoever, painstakingly assembled this wonderful pieces together. the world is a lot safer with your type in the media and at U.N assembly. May the fountain of pen through which u communicate never dry and death never see your part, AMEEEEN.
