Despite strong speeches by its leaders and what appeared to be an initial recognition of the necessity for outright victory against Hizb’allah, Israel now appears unable to do what is needed to actually achieve that goal.
Ha’aretz correspondent Ze’ev Schiff warns that if the IDF and political echelon do not get on the same page soon and implement a strong and unified battle plan, the conflict with Hizb’allah will turn into a war of attrition, bringing the Galilee region to its knees.
IDF Northern Command says it has a plan for victory, but it seems the Olmert government, which insists on approving every small step in this war before it is taken, has delayed implementation of the winning strategy as it looks over its shoulder to see what the international community is saying.
Cabinet meetings are turning into endless debates with no decisions taken the longer this fight drags on, putting victory further out of reach every day.
It doesn’t matter how many Hizb’allah men Israel kills or how many of the terrorists’ rockets are destroyed. Hizb’allah can recruit more willing fighters, and Iran and Syria will gladly supply more arms. All Hizb’allah has to do to win this fight is survive and demonstrate an ability to continue threatening northern Israel when all is said and done.
The burden of proof, therefore, is on Israel. Will Israel deal Hizb’allah and its sponsors such a harsh blow that despite the ability to recruit more men and obtain more weapons the group would never dare to use them again? Or will ultimate victory elude Jerusalem, leading to an irreversible tarnishing of the IDF’s image has the region’s mightiest military force and the deterrence that perception so long provided against Muslim aggression?

It is truly a difficult situation. I agree, how did that go?
“Israel’s ability to deter Muslim terrorist aggression against its people is on the line in a big way in southern Lebanon. If Hizb’allah survives its fight with Israel, terrorists everywhere will get the message that they can hit the Jewish state hard without fear of suffering annihilation in response. They will understand that Israel will never be allowed to do to them what America is doing to Al Qaeda and its allies.”
But the political pressures are bogging things down. There is no doubt IDF can get the job done. And in short order, but…
Let’s just pray they get the chance. Peace? My eye! The only way we’ll see peace is to get in covenant and wait for the Lamb to bring it.
Until then, let IDF do what they do best. And God bless them and ALL of Israel.

Flounder–to struggle or proceed clumsily. Flounder does not mean defeat; it just means to struggle. When an individual or a nation is struggling, the best thing to do is to call out to GOD for help. Depending on America, or any other nation or nations will not save Israel. She needs to turn to her HASHEM and plead for help. HE never failed her in the past, though HE may have turned HIS face away due to her turning away from HIM. HIS mighty power is the only way out of this evil plan to destroy Israel.

The Word of God is clear on this point: A HOUSE DIVIDED WILL NOT STAND! ALSO, A DOUBLE MINDED PERSON IS UNSTABLE IN ALL OF HIS WAYS.
I am still carrying the banner for BENJAMIN NETANYAHU. hE’S GOT THE “STUFF” iSRAEL needs now to get the job done. The longer Israel plays around with weak leaders, the worse things are going to get……time is of the essence.
Wake up E. Olmert, please. I respect you greatly, but your nation’ s very survival is at stake…..Will you be man enough to pass the banner to Netanyahu if it means victory and survival for the Nation of Israel. I know you love Israel and want what is best. Please be man enough to do THE RIGHT THING. No one will think you any less of a man…in fact, they will think you more of one. It take a great man to do what is best for the populace. I am praying for you and your great nation. I love Israel with all of my heart and its people need to see you act decisively RIGHT NOW! marsha

Right on Marsha, Jeannette and Luis. We really do need to pray hard for Israel. I know I want to receive God’s blessing for blessing her. I believe Netanyahu is definitely God’s man for the job of leading Israel during the tribulation period that is probably coming shortly! I think his name means something like God’s gift. In the past God used names to clue us in on certain things and I believe He still is. I pray that God will strengthen all of Israel’s leaders and unite them in His will–but I particularly pray for Netanyahu.

Israel is floundering. Emulating the U.S. style of warfare in Iraq is a recipe for quagmire. It is difficult to understand why the Israeli government is trying to destroy the muslim militants.
These are fighters who WELCOME death. It is glorious for them to die for their cause. They are invincible in this belief and NOTHING will deter them. Watch out for August 22nd. It is a very significant date in Islam relating to jihad. Expect a horrible bloodbath when Iran attacks Israel.
It is high time to understand how dangerous this situation has become for the whole world. My Christian brethren think that these are the “end times.” Who can argue with them at this point?
