Israel needs to wake up and declare war on the nation of Lebanon, rather than focus its military efforts solely on the Hizb’allah terrorist organization. The reasons are many, but the more important ones include the fact that successive Lebanese governments, including the current democratically-elected one, have allowed Hizb’allah to arm, flourish, take control of parts of the country and launch attacks on a neighboring state.
Lebanon is still officially in a state of war with Israel, and according to comments by Lebanon’s president and official statements by its armed forces, Hizb’allah is an invaluable strategic asset in that war.
Lebanese President Emil Lahoud had this to say of Hizb’allah last week:
“Hizb’allah enjoys utmost prestige in Lebanon, because it freed our country.”
The commander of Lebanon’s army, Gen. Michel Suleiman, added to that in a public speech:
Ongoing cooperation between the army and Hizb’allah “guarantees … the country’s unity.”
The army’s official website states:
“Preserving this resistance (Hizb’allah) constitutes a Lebanese strategic interest.”
In an statement released to the nation last year marking the Lebanese army’s 60th anniversary, protecting and harboring Hizb’allah was described as “a national and moral obligation” that works in “the country’s and the people’s interest.”
And it is to these people that the US Congress wants to give an additional $10 million of its taxpayers’ dollars in the hope Lebanon’s army can be bolstered enough to confront Hizb’allah?
What we have is a group of heavily-armed people that enjoy the support of their nation’s president and armed forces in attacking and provoking conflict with a neighboring state. In any other part of the world, that constitutes an act of war by one nation against another. Focusing solely on Hizb’allah and treating it as a crime syndicate rather than an official proxy of Lebanon’s and the Muslim world’s war against the Jewish state is helping no one.
Israel and its American allies need to be declaring war on Lebanon as a supporter of the wrong side in the global war on terror, not throwing more money at it. The “Cedar Revolution” so praised by Rice and others counts for nothing if all it did was create yet another terror supporting regime.

Ryan, I am deeply angered by the injustice being perpetrated by Hezbollah. Someone I had the utmost respect for who is now deceased told me: I am a fair and honest man/a man of integrity. I believe in living a righteous life and treating everyone as I would want to be treated. But, he told me, there are times IN a person’s or a nation’s life when war must come….when it does…you must understand that in war, you cannot fight fair—YOU MUST FIGHT TO WIN! I am not a “down and dirty” person, but Israel MUST finish the job while they have the opportunity…they did not start this…but they must finish this battle…and THEY MUST COME OUT VICTORIOUS. We have already seen the evidence of the “down and dirty” Hezbollah fighters and those who support their dastardly deeds. Israel has no other recourse but to surely and swiftly complete the job—whatever it takes. Please do not think I am cruel and hardhearted—I am not…I am a very sensitive and tenderhearted person. Nevertheless, injustice and extreme cruelty will continue to rain down on Israel UNLESS they FIGHT TO WIN! We must always remember: What we do not erradicate when we are strong, will come back to destroy us when we are weak. That is why Israel MUST TAKE UP THEIR WEAPONS and finish the job….If a ceasefire comes—it will be only a bad joke to the enemies of Israel. They will plot, plan and arm and the next attack will be a thousand times worse than this is becoming. I am praying and tomorrow I will fast once again for a great and swift Victory for my brothers and sisters in Beloved Israel, the Land of God’s Delight. marsha

Reconstructing Lebanon from the devastation caused by Israel will probably cost 5 billion. US already gives 2 billion each year to Israel.

I’m with you Ryan! Truth, to those who do not know the Truth, is offensive. I am not offended. I stand with you in your bold reporting and cheer you on! God hasn’t changed. He knows who the enemy is and wills Israel to follow the ways of her forefather’s when fighting the enemies in the land. When they obey the God of Israel, their land is made secure through complete victory. May it be so once again!

I agree with you 100%! People may not see the truth or have a hard time believing it. The propaganda war is being won by Hizbollah, with a couple of set-backs, like having to admit it wasn’t 40 people who were “massacred” in Houla, but emmm 1 person. Commonly confused numbers, clearly, he was just tired. Or maybe, he’s just a dirty liar and he couldn’t fit 40 people into the building and hold them hostage to make them “martyrs.” But hopefully, we will declare war and with G-d’s help we will win this thing. Thanks Ryan, I really enjoyed reading this.

Peace is a choice, a gift from God. We either accept it or reject it. Israels enimies do not want peace. Internatiomnal forces may impose a faux peace between warring nations. But true peace is a God thing. With so many different religions and god worshipping, peace will elude the world until Christ’s resides on the Temple Mount. Yahweh’s banner of victory flys above Israel. The nation’s who hate Israel are in for a rude awaking, like Humpty Dumpty they will have a great fall. ‘ Cursed are those who hate Israel and blessed are those who bless Israel.’ Yahweh has spoken. allah is but the tip of the flame (where Iran) is the root of the problem.s are with our brotherHowever, it goes alot deeper than this...It is evil against Righteousness, and this will continue until Our FATHER removes all evil. But until then, we must be ever diligent in our fight for what is right,and be used by Our FATHER (as HIS servants) in whatever capacity HE so chooses.

When Israel was under the direct command of its MAKER and protector, no nation could withstand her power and strength. It was Israel that wanted a king “as other nations “. And so it was that Israel had to fight for every inch of ground and the fortunes of the nation were taken away when the king sinned, and then restored again as the king sought forgiveness.
This is the history of a great nation. The king of Israel is now represented by an elected parlament that represents the nation. And so it will be that the people (children) will suffer because of the sins of their elected representatives (fathers).
Israel has the commandments of Moses to follw and obey.
It is very clear that all sinners must be punished but not long ago Israel granted free passage to “the gays and lisbians” of the world. So let it be known that for those who commit a public sin, they will be punished publicly. Hisbolah is the punishment.
Israel go back to the temple, occupy what is yours and redeem yourself. This must be done by all your representatives in parlament. Admit your faults and bow to the LORD OF ALL. Only when this is done will there be peace for HIS children. Forget what other nations promise you, because only THE ETERNAL FATHER can keep promises. Listen to these words and look up to I AM.

It’s about bloody time. What is it that ties the hands of Israel? it’s a political noose. Is it the centuries of suffering? Is it guilt?
Blatant games are being played as Jews are murdered. We all know that Islamists want no compromise with Jews — they want them dead. I believe that even if the Jewish people went to Siberia, there would be the devil — through the hands of Islam, waiting for them. I was complaining the exact same thing to my Israeli friends in 1975. I understand taking the higher road, better than most; I understand turning the other cheek if it serves a higher purpose; but I do not understand allowing people who are beyond understanding anything rational, to tee off on innocent Jewish people.
This entire senario is a dream come true for anyone tied to Islam. They start the fight; sacrifice even their own people without hesitation; and run down the street dragging dead bodies in front of media cameras. What!!! Who’s kidding whom? The most amazing thing of all is that it actually works in gaining simpathy. I believe that this shameless sham could not convince anyone to sympathize with the Lebonese, who isn’t already anti-semitic.
The Jews are supported by God, Jewish people, and “true-believing” Christians — that’s more than enough. If a Christian doesn’t support Israel, they do not understand the New Testament. Even if a Jew does not have the presence of mind to receive Jesus as his/her Lord and Savior, they must
be supported by Christians, period.

I can’t recall who this famous quote is attributed to, but I believe it with all of my heart:
“All it takes for evil to prevail, is for good men (and women) to do nothing….”
My maternal grandmother: “Granny” programmed me throughout my growing up years with this statement:
People who don’t stand for something will fall for anything. She said take a stand for what you believe in…if you are right with the Lord—nine times out of ten you wil be on the right track…….
She taught me to be an independent thinker. I am thankful for this….I believe it is important that we teach or children and grandchildren to listen attentively to others—-but they should weigh up what they have heard—think it through, not just believe everything they hear and take it as truth.
Beloved Israel, you are loved with an EVERLASTING LOVE. There as masses of people who you do not know even exist who pray for you daily, and who love you and your people worldwide. Don’t allow the spirit of “heaviness” to discourage you……If God be for you—AND HE ALWAYS IS—who can be against you!
It is a great privilege to be born Jewish. My mother has told me throughout my life that she has always wished she could have been born a Jew…..As I have gotten older, I too feel the same…..
