Do Israel’s leaders - and for that matter, American and European officials - really believe that PLO chief Mahmoud Abbas is an opponent of anti-Jewish terrorism? They sure do say so often enough, though Abbas himself repeatedly contradicts that notion. In the latest example, former US State Department official Aaron Miller noted that Abbas’ endorsement of the “prisoners’ peace plan” is in fact an official sanctioning of terrorist violence against Israeli Jews.
Certain clauses of the much-reported document call for the establishment of a “Palestinian” body responsible for coordinating all attacks on those Jews who continue to live in Judea and Samaria.
It openly condones the continued use of terrorism against men, women and children until “Palestinian” demands are fully met.
World leader and the international press, of course, only focused on those parts of the document that signaled a vague de facto recognition of Israel’s sovereignty.
Nor is this the first time Abbas has publicly endorsed “Palestinian” terrorists and their actions.
During his election campaign, Abbas made seea point of appearing at public rallies with popular terror chiefs and referring to them as his “brothers.”
Last summer, Abbas played to popular sentiment by describing Israel’s withdrawal from Gaza as a victory for the “resistance.”
It does not matter what Abbas says to the international press or world leaders. These are the things he is telling his own people, and these are the things that will influence their actions.
Israel and the world finally woke up to the fact that Yasser Arafat was not a good guy. It is time to likewise recognize Arafat’s long-time comrade-in-arms, Mahmoud Abbas, for what he really is.

No Olmert is not stupid he clearly knows what he is doing. Unfortunately it seems to me that he is working for the enemies of the Jewish People. He is not influenced by his wife or children (note what his own Daughter has been up too). He seems to be in total agreement with them.
Let us consider the agenda of the various social elitists. They seek world order where typically they control the masses. In fact in many countries the power masters often control things. Only in free countries are there some checks and balances. (But, don’t think that the very wealth cannot literally get away with murder, even in America. Anybody find the murderer of OJ’s ex-wife??)
The plan for Israel is to lose its identity in the pan-Arab world. Israel is meant to go the way of South Africa. Just like the Whites of SA were given their personal freedom while the country was taken over by the Black majority; Jews are to be given their personal freedom in an area fully controlled by the Muslim majority. At least that was the original plan.
To accomplish this you first had to soften up the people. This requires a sprinkling of lies, terror and international pressure.
It began with pre-Oslo negotiations. Arafat was likely told that Israel will chop itself into smaller and smaller parts until there will be nothing left. All the PLO had to do was offer peace for withdrawal. Of course, Arafat was unable to do even that little bit. However, the elitist spun stories how it did not matter.
The international powers loved it since they support the end of the Jewish State. Their only hesitation is another Holocaust. Since Israel was going to negotiate itself out of existence they needed care about any limited loss of life, as long as it was Jews being killed. However, they rapidly protested any Arab loss of life, even if unintentional, except immediate ticking bombs.
Why might you ask would Jews actively plan this? The answer is complex. In general these elitists are anti-religious. They are more then non-religious, they frequently hate anything associated with traditional Biblical values. There original interest in a Jewish State was not to create a “Jewish People’” but to replace the culture with a new entity called “Israeli.” Their hope was to end or minimize traditional Jewish values. In spite of many strides in that direction, they failed. The Orthodox population is growing while they shrink in number.
This population shift first became apparent with the election of PM Begin. This is why the left sought out the Arab vote by making secret deals with the PLO. They decided that they will control the nation no matter what and if need be bring it down.
Since 1993 they have slowly destroyed Israel’s standing amongst the world. The major thing that has eroded world support is their abandonment of Jewish rights to the West Bank. Today most people view Israel’s presence on the west bank as a form of occupation. Therefore, world opinion can accept Arab terror, since one mans terrorist is another mans freedom fighter. As long as Israel is stealing Arab lands the Arabs have a right to fight back. People do not buy the concept that there is any linkage between getting out of occupied lands and stopping fighters for freedom. They say, don’t talk about ending terror until you are completely out of their lands. In effect Israel has shot itself in the foot.
I seem to remember that around the 1994 a government official (a leftist) made a comment that once the labor government finishes making peace with the Arabs they would deal with the religious parties.
In summary, this hatred of the orthodox Jews is what is driving the anti-religious Israeli parties. A significant part of the centralist members and of course a large part of the left wing parties are simple out to do whatever they can to end traditional Jewish values. They see the easiest way of doing this by creating a single secular State of Palestine where Jewish culture would no long be represented by the State and were non-religious Jews will have total freedom to do whatever they please. Any Arab dominated State would have constant public desecration of all Jewish laws.
A secondary effect is to undermine belief in the Bible. A lot of people see in the reestablishment of the State of Israel the fulfillment of Biblical prophecies. They see the gathering of people from other nations as part of the ingathering. By destroying the Jewish State they hope to undermine the essence of the Bible. The Bible states that G-d will never fully abandon his people. If there is another Holocaust a lot of religious people will be devastated. This will achieve the goal of many of these anti-religious people by causing a loss of faith in the Bible.

PS. the one fly in the ointment is Hamas. Hamas doesn’t want to give any non-Muslim’s any rights. While there are a few Jewish self-haters that are willing to see Jews dismembered, most of the leftist would like to simple be absorbed within the Arab world. This is why even many of the anti-Israeli crowd are opposed to Hamas. The PA is just as much a terror organization, but they seem to be willing to allow Jews to live as private individuals. Hamas will not do even that. (Of course, the PA is actually just as much opposed to Jewish citizens living in Palestine, but they are smart enoght not to show their hand.)

true one wonders whos side olmert and those left winger traitors are really on

I don’t think Olmert is naive…I think he knows exactly what he’s doing
11 ben // Jun 17, 2006 at 3:13 pm
olmert is the most naive person living on this planet. if he thinks giving away land will give peace he’s more foolish than his policies so far. israel will be left at its narrowest part to 9 miles and any concessions of land is seen to the muslim terorist as success to the intifiada. mahmoud abbas and hamas are working togetrher for the desturction of israel. although they pretend to the media and say they are the “victims of american/israeli imperialism” they talk in arabic of how israel is the poison of hte middle east on arab lands. judeaea, samaria and the whole of the west bank and gaza should not be given away to the terorists.
12 joanna // Jun 18, 2006 at 9:02 am
I don’t believe he does think it will bring peace. He knows what harm giving more land will bring to Israel. That’s why I don’t think he’s naive. He’s wicked. Shame on him.
13 ben // Jun 18, 2006 at 11:35 am
too right joanna he’s acting for public image to satisfy the media’s pushing pressure on him and stupidly thinking they will stop by giving away land. Has the media talked once abouyt the disengagement since last summer - commenting on the fact that the “palestinians” havent kept their part of the deal? The fact that Arabs are being armed under the Oslo appeal to shoot Jewish babies and children? The fact the Arabs use their children as body guards and blame the Israeli soldiers for shooting their armed children?
