The international media this week unsurprisingly and enthusiastically took Hamas’ desire to hold talks with the Middle East Quartet as proof of its assertion that the terror group had moderated upon assuming power.
Hamas it seems is doing a good job of following Arafat’s example of covering its blood-stained hands in silk gloves in its dealings with the outside world.
Very quickly will the international media start to totally ignore more hostile statements like this:
“The Koran is our constitution, Mohammed is our prophet, jihad [holy war] is our path and dying for the sake of Allah is our biggest wish.”
And this:
“We cannot recognize Israel. The land of Palestine is ours and not for the Jews.”
In favor of statements made for Western consumption, such as this:
Hamas “won’t spare any effort to reach a just peace in the region…we’re not warmongers and we don’t call for terrorism and bloodshed.”
Of course, none of the above statements, even the supposedly “moderate” one, says anything about peaceful coexistence with the Jewish state.
A “just peace” for Hamas means the eradication of Israel and its replacement with an Arab Muslim state.

In 1939 I lived in a small Polish town of Drohobycz, now in south west Ukraine. There was a very large Jewish population who had many relatives and friends who lived further west over the river San. The war divided us from the west along that river. The Russian Communists east of it and the Nazis west of it. During the two years of Russian occupation the Drohobycz Jews still had contact with the “west”, heard the stories about the persecution and genocide of Jews by the Nazis but refused to believe it. In 1941, although many smart Drohobycz Jews escaped to the east with the Russians, most Jews remained in Drohobycz still refusing to believe their families and friends in the west that they will be in terrible danger under the Nazi occupation. By 1944 all Drohobycz Jews were gone and we know the rest. I am telling this story for the benefit of the younger generation of Israelis especially those who voted for the Kadima Party. Take notice of warnings and terrible experiences of the past and learn from it or you will be bound to go through that hell again.

I am a Christian Zionist beause I beieve the bible. I am constantly amazed at people who believe the Bible is the WORD OF G-D and can not see the covenant G-D made with Abraham.There is no blindness like religious blindness as proved by the followers of Islam.The TENACH and BRIT HADASSAH support the Jewish claim to Israel. When the final judgement of this generation comes, I want to stand with Israel for that is where YESHUA will be.
